“APPROVED: EL PASO COUNTY ALTERNATIVE SUPPRESSION PLAN FOR LIMITED DINING IN RESTAURANTS, FOOD COURTS, CAFES, COFFEEHOUSES, AND OTHER SIMILAR PLACES OF PUBLIC ACCOMODATION OFFERING FOOD OR BEVERAGE FOR ON-PREMISES CONSUMPTION.
I am pleased to announce that the variance El Paso County Public Health submitted to the Governor to allow dining of restaurants has been Approved, Effective Immediately, with a few additional requirements. Both the approval letter and the submitted variance are attached. The following is an additional capacity requirement listed in the letter: In each confined indoor space, in order to achieve 6 ft social distancing, the limit is 50% of the posted occupancy code limit ensuring a minimum 28 square feet per person not to exceed more than 50 people at any given time. Please know that there is still an ability to expand your capacity by proposing a plan to safely allow more than 50 customers. To do so inside please email it to: email@example.com. Please include how each seating area will be completely separated by including a floor plan or drawing of your proposed seating areas, including the spacing of each table as well. In addition, it is very important to understand the following conditions of the approval: the variance approval is granted based on the facts and circumstances today described the request. If the county were to have more than 715 cases in a two week period (2 week incidence of 100 per 100,000), the variance is automatically rescinded. Additionally, CDPHE reserves the right to modify or rescind this variance approval as circumstances warrant. This approval is in effect until the final expiration of PHO 20-28, which will be extended in some capacity beyond the current expiration date next week.”
